Thanksgiving Treat Bag

I love Fall and Thanksgiving is such a wonderful Holiday. This project was definitely inspired by my two little rascals. They started play school and I have been brainstorming on a perfect treat bags for their school friends. I think this one will be super fun to give away.

I started by cutting a pear shape for the body of the turkey out of felt. Then I cut a bunch of feathers using a plain orange cloth. I stamped the orange cloth with PSA Essentials Peel & Stick Rosettas to give the feathers a retro design.
I pinned the feathers and arranged them behind the turkey. You can sew this by hand or you can use a machine.
After sewing the feathers down. I iron heat and bond on the back of the turkey.
I created a simple 5X7 canvas pouch and ironed the turkey onto the bag. I also sewed around the turkey to secure the felt. I added some googly eyes and beak to finish the design.
I picked a simple grosgrain ribbon to match the feathers. Quick simple and festive.
