Bunny Tails - Easter Treat Packaging Idea

Here's another packaging idea I found on Pinterest and loved that I can easily mimic the design and incorporate my PSA Essentials Peel and Stick Stamps.

I started by cutting a 12"x12" pattern paper into four squares. Fold them in half and stamped "bunny tails" text onto the paper using PSA Essentials Archive letter stamp set. I also attached a cute little silhouette bunny to tie the whole theme.

I used a clear bag to package the marshmallows and secure the stamped paper tag on top of the bag. Instead of stapling the paper - I sewed a simple zigzag stitch.

It's quick and easy. I'm excited to add them to my Easter bags.

School Gift Idea - Paper Carrots

Are you prepping up for Easter? I am and totally fell in love with the strawberries I made for Valentine's for school gifts and wanted to create something similar for Easter. I created the carrot packaging pattern in Illustrator and imported and edited the image in Silhouette. I used my Silhouette machine to cut the pattern.

I selected various paper patterns to complete my project.

Fold along the crease marks.

I used hot glue to secure the end tab. This works great than double sided tape or glue dots. It's much more durable.

I prepared green yarn tassels for the carrot leaves. I used a small card stock as my guide. Wrap yarn around the card stock several times and secure with another yarn, tie in a knot and cut the ends.

Insert the green tassel and loop an extra piece of yarn through the punched holes and secure in a knot.

Set aside and prepare stamped Easter tag.

I prepared scalloped circle tags, stamped "Happy Easter" sentiment using PSA Essentials Peel and Stick stamp.

I also added a pink and white twine to finish my tags.

Add tag and secure. That's it! Simple and so cute.

We're ready to share them with our school friends. I'm planning on making a few extra carrots for our church teachers too!

Cookies for Breakfast - Happy Valentine's Day!

There's nothing sweeter than waking up early morning and whipping up some heart shaped short bread cookies for your loved ones. Boys were busy playing in the living and these cookies didn't take a long time to make. I think I might just do this every year. I could prepare the dough day in advance but as usual there were too many things happening in our little household.

Shortbread Cookies (adapted from Food Network)

Ingredients:
1 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. fine salt
3/4 cup unsalted butter (1 1/2 sticks), softened
2/3 cup sugar
1 large egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/3 cup strawberry jam (no seeds)

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone mats.
  2. Whisk the flour, baking powder and salt together in a bowl.
  3. In another bowl, whip the butter and the sugar until fluffy, about 5 minutes. Beat in egg and vanilla until just combined. Slowly beat in dry ingredients in 2 additions, mixing just until incorporated.
  4. Divide dough in 6 parts and roll out and use a heart shaped cookie cutter. Flip and coat with sugar crystal and place on the mat with the sugar facing up.
  5. Bake for 12 minutes.
  6. Store cookies in a tightly sealed container for up to 5 days.

Huge hit from the boys.

It feels like Christmas around here but it's only Valentine's and we get to enjoy some sugar cookies for breakfast. Yummy!

He's never done this before. He actually smiled for me.

Ryan loved it too!

Pink fingers from the sugar crystals.

We also made some Strawberry Thumbprint cookies for Dada. I just used the extra dough

Dada's card from the boys. :)

I made a cake from scratch. Never done this before. I might just bake our cakes from now on. It was pretty good.

One more Father's Day treat...

Happy Father's Day!

It's been crazy around here. We're done with the big party, said our goodbyes to our visiting family, cleaned the house, back to my projects and our little family activities. With all the whirl wind of events...I was able to put together this special Father's Day album for my husband. I compiled all the precious pictures to remember his first year of being a Daddy. I just hope my husband isn't reading my blog post. :)

Pinhole Press is simply remarkable. I've seen it at A Cup of Jo back in March. It was love at first sight. I knew I would come up with a personalized gift for someone someday. The website is so easy to use and navigate. The only hard part is waiting for all the pictures to render. Saving took a long time too! I was able to save some time by creating a folder I wanted for the album. The checkout process was amazing and shipping was impressive. I can't wait to create more albums for my family.

I chose the brown spine cover and a sepia finish for the photo cover. I just love that I don't have to worry about adding too many text for each page. I do love the dedication page Pinhole Press provided. It's enough space for me to say what I want to say.

Here are some of my favorite pages throughout the book. These pictures make me smile every time. :)
Have a fabulous Father's Day weekend with your lovies!
